Masters National Championships 2017

Seven STAMers swam in this year’s National Masters competition at Ponds Ford, Sheffield on 27/28/29 October 2017- Christina Smith and her sister Catherine (Cat) Freeman, Duncan Beveridge, Neil Culley, Craig Kirkland, Brian McShea and Martin Scott.

It was an extremely stiff competition and several world, european and national records were broken.

Duncan Beveridge took home 2 Bronze medals for his 50m and 100m Breaststroke events.

The STAMers gave everything they had – securing some PB’s and respectable placings. Well done swimmers!

Aylesbury Relay Gala

July 2017

STAM faced fierce competition at Aylesbury Relay Gala

17 STAMers put up a good fight in a fast and fierce Aylesbury competition. For most of us it was a constant dash to prepare for the next race having just finished one. But adrenalin was pumping and kept us going through to the big finale.

South Beds, Aylesbury and Amersham were very strong and STAM’s battle was for 4th place with Milton Keynes who happened to be in the next lane. Final points were 140 South Beds, 119 Aylesbury, 118 Amersham, 91 St Albans, 78 Milton Keynes.

Well done to everyone who swam and to the officials who kept the competition running fast and smooth.

Herts Masters Championships

June 2017

Well done to everyone who swam on Sat 17 June. It was a great evening and we were delighted to have retained the cup. Despite the  temperature reaching nearly 40’ STAM kept their cool and brought home a selection of medals, and the most points. Hemel were second and Hartham third. Thanks to the officials who as usual did a great job.
