STAM members contact Craig Kirkland for more information on open water events

To save me a lot of time and effort this website has done it all for me Overtaquatix for your open water calendar of events.

More venues are opening up to regular swimming, and existing ones are extending the hours that are reserved for swimming, with many more organised events being run all over the country. Whether you want a gentle swim in a quiet lake with one or two others, or join the 1000+ swimmers in a major event, or challenge yourself to complete a memorable swim the opportunity is there.

The primary aim of the STAM club for open water is to communicate to all its members interested in open water swimming when and where members are swimming. Last year from April to September, I don't think a week went by when STAM swimmers were not in one of the 4 lakes around the St Albans area,
taking the plunge in and out of their wetsuits. 2012 promises to be even better so if you haven’t experienced open water swimming and would like to but are a bit nervous, there will always be someone going who is happy to help and guide you through your first swim.
